Lucy May Schofield

Inspired by an unrelenting desire to make, and with her passion for the written word Lucy creates narrative objects each one, with their own story. This how, she accompanies the viewer on a journey. The works are born from a passion to communicate, to generate a dialogue and create a world in which there is time and space enough to read. While learning the traditional techniques of bookbinding, she discovered the pleasures of fine printing, the delight in self-publishing, the satisfaction and accessibility of communicating by means of the book form. Her work is held in public and private collections in the UK and abroad including TATE Britain, Chelsea College of Art, London College of Communication, Winchester School of Art, Manchester Metropolitan University. Artist multiples are stocked in London, Edinburgh, Paris, San Francisco and Los Angeles.

So, I decided to create a permanent space for Lucy's "Bibliotherapy" which is inpired by nature. Above, you can see some of her books, also associated with nature.
